Mapping possible routes. I found out this guy is now in Tanzania. Considering my roommate should be in Zambia by May, I have a friend from Malawi, and Swaziland and Mozambique are fairly easy and inexpensive to navigate... maybe a broader loop.
I always think it's funny when people want to save Africa for when they're middle aged. Why? So you can travel more like a colonist and can afford to eat more endangered species?
This sentiment probably stolen from Getting Stoned With Savages, (funny, self aware expat memoir of Vanuatu and Fiji). I often find myself wishing all travel novels read like The Rum Diaries. This came closer than most. I have a small stack of travel books in my room to tide me over the shorter and shorter days, the drier and drier air. My iPod has also learned that when I shuffle in the morning, I want to listen to music from warmer climes. Any warmer climes. Anywhere not here. Seriously, why do people live in this part of the world at all?
