A potentially bad incompetent week closes out blissfully calm with enough time to clean twenty pounds of files off my desk. My favorite supervisor recommended a biography to me; I asked about it and he handed me 1000 pages. On the upside, it has his notations in the margins, which I love because he's brilliant and I like when people write in books most of the time. On the downside... 1000 pages?!

This made me laugh out loud in my office.
"Americans are extremely suspicious of government involvement in culture. They're suspicious of young Canadian artists with long resumes. They regard it as a fake career that you could only have in Canada, and that no one in the States would ever have"
-Marc Mayer, Director of Musee D'Art Contemporain in Montreal

Off to have a relatively subdued and adult-type weekend. In the crossword sense, not the X-rated. Will report back when life is not like this at all.
