I think contamination of Chinese food products is probably a conspiracy perpetrated by the United States government. Paranoid and cynical, but think about it carefully in light of raw logic and cold war tactics for a new generation and get back to me.
There is an election going on. Voting is important. So many political discussions are happening nationally/internationally that my personal determination will be made three days before via retrospect. Actually, our national election does not affect the area I live in much due to certain economic insulation factors and that most projects that are important to me are being driven by provincial engines. The larger national projects of interest are unlikely to be accomplished in four years and widely badly organized across the board. See cynical, above.
This week has made it abundantly clear that, aside from no longer spending weekends on speakers gyrating to Oh Hot Damn/This is My Jam, I don't miss my alma mater. There will always be a part that loves the idea of September as a free pass to meet new people, push the edges and try new things, but nothing about that is restricted to college. College is what teaches you to lead the rest of your life that way, with a casual eye to opportunity and the width of the world.

Not to paranoid, but I am pretty sure that contaminated food in China is a real problem. I lived over there for two years and saw and heard some pretty sketchy stuff.
