do what you feel now

all along the eastern shore
put your circuits in the sea
this is what the world is for
making electricity
you can feel it in your mind
oh you can do it all the time
plug it in, change the world
you are my electric girl

The songs remind me of mornings with friends by oceans. "Put a good one on before we go out so I have it in my head." Right now I'm waiting for my best friend to show up for a weekend of getting trashed on my deck and maybe going to the beach. I've already been to yoga, read the paper over coffee and hit up the farmers market/bakery. I refuse to let this city make me what I'm not, so I walk everywhere and eat things that grew from soil not far and dress differently from anyone I've seen around. Sometimes people stare, but mostly they smile, and I know in five years they'll get it.

Aside from mild annoyance at my locale, I'm actually kind of super happy. Oh, and sometimes wishing that my other was more proximate so I didn't have to watch Gossip Girl and think about totally nailing Chuck Bass.
