weekend {meals}

Last night an informal dinner. Two bottles of wine, pork tenderloin with shallot sauce, roasted vegetables, roasted potatoes, organic brownies, cheese, crackers. I can, indeed, cook. We eat everything. Later, drunken confessions. Knowing what you know now, would you be doing this. Answers: maybe not. For me, I guess, it's different because I came in knowing and expecting nothing and leave on decent terms. The past three years have enriched my life significantly, have been worth the investment, I guess.

This morning two hour brunch. They don't care what I do. We talk about issues, the mundane, people compliment me on my radio topic last week, it's awesome.

Yesterday, dessert and coffee. I recognize the waitress from burlesque and feel like I'm in on a secret. We talk about when people get wrinkles, my relationship, our roommates, etc. She points out that I am vastly ungrateful considering how excellent my significant other is, as I was complaining about how I have to partly choose between him and possible career options, as I was explaining how much he's going to be working over the next few years. It is true. Sometimes it's like I imagined him into being.

Friday, the significant other took me out for sushi, a really sweet date, and we talked about what we did that day which still feels like playing pretend sometimes, sharing plates of rolls and sashimi and a sake ceasar. I made banana pancakes the next day and got him out of bed. Those are the best mornings.

The people you eat with. Enrich your diet, enrich your life.

My convocation pictures are funny because I could still be in high school, other than a difference in how the gown looks I look exactly the same...
