leaving las vegas

I met RBH's mom yesterday. She's funny and warm and sharp; a lot like him.

Later, I went to a concert with C, which turned out to be a not-bad rock distraction. My door guy still works there. We watched the show eating a pile of nachos; for some reason it seemed largely attended by the under 20 set. My first concert there was probably around that age, dressed up in something inspired by something I'd seen which would now seem reference-heavy and contrived. Ah, youth.

I have to put on some nice clothes and go to a thing today, which I hope includes some high quality free food. This week has been an odyssey of free meals, two yesterday alone, and I have to remind myself that I only have a month left in this apartment and I have to eat all the groceries hidden away in my freezer and small cupboard, repack my suitcases, and move on.

My search for future residence has turned up two not-bad options. Both are in within walking distance of my office (ha, "my office"), around the price range I was looking for, and use appropriate grammar in their emails. In two weeks, I'm heading down to the city and checking things out. The back up plan, as always, is a modified combination of vagrancy and couch surfing...
